The arrival of a new baby brings changes and challenges for everyone in the family. Join us on Monday, February 20 at 7:30 pm to share ideas and tips for getting off to a good start with your breastfeeding baby.

Our monthly meetings are led by certified La Leche League Leaders and offer mother-to-mother support for expectant mothers who are interested in learning more about breastfeeding, as well as women who are nursing their babies. Babies are always welcome.

La Leche League invites all women interested in breastfeeding to attend our monthly meetings, held the third Monday of each month at 7:30 P.M.

All meetings are held at the

First Presbyterian Church

20 Kings Highway East

Haddonfield, NJ

The First Presbyterian Church is on Kings Highway near the corner of Chestnut Street and Kings Highway. The entrance to the church is on the Masonic Temple side. Ample parking is in the back accessible from Chestnut Street. (There is no parking allowed in the parking lot by the Masonic Temple.)

To get to the Hospitality Center, enter by the door that faces Chestnut Street, next to the playground. Take the steps down to the basement and the Hospitality Center is the first door on the right.

November 21 Meeting

La Leche League's comprehensive guide to nursing your baby is titled The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding for good reason—breastfeeding truly is an art. The breastfeeding relationship is influenced by the unique personalities of each mother and each baby, and it changes as the baby grows.

La Leche League meetings are the ideal place to learn that art, offering both factual information and the personal insights of experienced nursing mothers. If you are nursing your baby, planning to nurse your baby, or just generally interested in learning more about this womanly art, please join us in the Hospitality Center of the First Presbyterian Church in Haddonfield on Monday, November 21 at 7:30 pm. Babies are always welcome to attend with their moms!

The first weeks at home with a new baby are a time for learning and loving. Baby and mother are both learning about breastfeeding, so it's good to have some resources for solving potential problems. August 15 meeting

New questions arise at every step of mothering: How long should I breastfeed my baby? When do babies need to start solid foods? Can I skip bottles altogether and use sippy cups instead?

Our August meeting will focus on family nutrition and the process of weaning. Join us on Monday, August 15 at 7:30 for a lively discussion.

June 20 Meeting

Our June meeting will focus on getting started with breastfeeding--the things you need to know when you welcome a new baby into your family.

While breastfeeding is a natural process, in the beginning both mother and baby have to learn how to do it, so new mothers sometimes feel confused and overwhelmed. Knowing the basic principles of proper positioning can help you get breastfeeding off to a good start.

All women who are interested in learning about breastfeeding are invited to attend our monthly meetings at the First Presbyterian Church in Haddonfield. Directions are on the right-hand side of this page.

May 16 meeting

Please join us Monday, May 16 at 7:30 for a discussion of the benefits of breastfeeding. We'll be covering advantages gleaned from the wisdom of past generations and from today's scientific research, so you're sure to learn something new!

La Leche League's monthly meetings provide a great forum for sharing ideas on breastfeeding and parenting. We meet in the Hospitality Center of the First Presbyterian Church, 20 Kings Highway East (see directions and additional details on the right-hand side of this page).

April 18 Meeting

How do you know when your breastfed baby is ready to begin solid foods? What foods should you start with? How often should you offer new foods? By about the middle of the first year, every new parent will be looking for answers to these questions.

Come share your concerns and get "field-tested" answers from other mothers at this month's La Leche League meeting. Monday, April 18 at 7:30 pm, in the Hospitality Center of the First Presbyterian Church, 20 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield. (scroll down for directions, on the right.)

La Leche League meetings are free, and are open to expectant mothers, nursing mothers, and other women interested in breastfeeding. Babies are always welcome.

The topic of our March meeting is overcoming breastfeeding difficulties. It's a great opportunity for newer moms to benefit from the stories of more experienced moms.

The next meeting of La Leche League of Haddonfield will be Monday, June 21 at 7:30 pm. Pregnant women, nursing mothers (and their children), and any women interested in learning more about breastfeeding are invited to join us in the Hospitality Center of the First Presbyterian Church (20 Kings Highway East). The topic for June is Getting Started with Breastfeeding, but as always, the discussion can encompass any breastfeeding or parenting concerns raised by the participants.

We usually think of the benefits of breastfeeding in terms of the ideal nutrition for baby. Does breastfeeding offer benefits to the mother as well? What about the baby's father? or siblings? Come join us for some interesting perspectives, plus insights from the latest research.

New Date:
Third Monday of each month. The next meeting will be March 15.
The time is still 7:30 pm.

The church is on Kings Highway with the Masonic Temple on the right and the manse and former bank on the left, near the corner of Chestnut Street and Kings Highway. Ample parking is in the back accessible from Chestnut Street. The only entrance to the church is a door on the Masonic Temple side. There is no parking allowed in the parking lot across from this door, because it is used and owned by the Masons.

To get to the Hospitality Center, when you enter the side door, either take the steps down to the basement or take the elevator to "B". Turn right and walk straight to the back. There is a little red carpet in front of the door. The Hospitality Center is on the left.

The church has been very welcoming, and they are pleased that a town organization can use their facility. Please join us on March 15 for our "housewarming" meeting!

For November, we will be meeting at Peggy Stedman's house, 766 Mt Vernon Ave., Haddonfield. . The house is 4 houses in from Crystal Lake Ave and about 7 blocks from Haddon Ave, 3 blocks from West End. If googling, use 766 West Mt Vernon. Her phone number is 795-2092.

IMPORTANT: Peggy says, "I'm asking everyone to please limit the children to babies and toddlers. My family room is half as big as Mabel Kay house and the older children would be quickly bored. I would not be comfortable having them in the rest of the house unattended."
